It's Raining, It's Pouring...

Grandaddy is snoring! (that is how the song goes, according to Anderson)
Anderson finally got to wear his cool Thomas the Train raincoat, rainboots and umbrella that Gigi sent to him for the 1st time yesterday and he was so excited!
He did not really need to wear it, but it had been raining earlier that morning, so I let him go outside that afternoon and play in his new gear while EJ was napping!

He had a blast and has already asked if he can do it again today!

Peek-A-Boo

Where's EJ???

There he is!!!

Poor little thing has pretty much been laying around for 2 days straight...some sort of 24 hr. bug! (1 day of sickness and 1 day to recover)

Now I am just watching him to make sure he does not end up with an ear infection....anytime he gets any kind of congestion or a fever, there is always a good chance he could end up with one...but so far so good!

By the way, he LOVES to play peek-a-boo, always has, he will start the game for you! He is a little distracted in this photo though, he is too busy watching TV, probably Dora, his favorite show!

(Anytime he wants to watch TV, he will crawl up in the seat, turn around and point at the TV, which means...turn it on! This time he climbed up in our bed, turned around, pointed at the TV and then pointed at the covers, which meant...pull them up! He is a little character!)

Anderson said EJ should have a Dora birthday party, ha!

Anderson said he is going to have a Lightning McQueen birthday party in the gym at church so everyone can race their cars! (Check back in a few months to see if this little plan of his pans out)

Speaking of Lightning McQueen, I took him to Target to pick out Presley's birthday present and he wanted to get her a Lightning McQueen race car! I talked him into a mini-Barbie pink VW bug, complete with mini-Barbie and her mini-poodle!

More stories on Anderson very soon, there is never a dull moment with him around, he keeps us entertained!

Check Yes or No

Everyday after preschool let's out, most of the kids and their parents stay and play on the grass and rocks out front. As long as the weather is nice, which it usually is.

Anderson always begs to stay and sometimes we do, if time permits.

Yesterday we were headed straight to the car even though it was a nice day, because Wednesdays are crazy busy and I am always in a hurry.

However, Anderson spotted his classmate Presley (cute little girl, long blonde hair) on the lawn out front and he kept saying over and over, "there's my friend Presley over there." (Hint. Hint)

So finally, I asked him if he wanted to go say hi and he said yes. He proceeded to walk over and stand quietly in front of her until I prompted him to say hello.

We left and I did not think much of it, until today when I picked him up from preschool and Miss Lori said she had something cute to tell me about Anderson. Oh great, what?

She said that when she put the placecards out for lunch today, Anderson snuck over and moved his next to Presley's and said, "I have to sit by Presley because I love her!"

So apparantly, Anderson has his 1st crush at age 3 1/2. Lord, help us.

I asked him about her and he said, "she's my best friend."

He is attending her birthday party next weekend, so I will try to get a picture of them together, assuming they are still friends then.

You never know about these things.

Diego and HotWheels

Anderson and EJ have been partying it up lately!

A few weeks ago, we drove to Arlington for my nephew Caleb's 3rd birthday, where the boys partied it up Diego-style! They had a blast with their cousins Caleb and Eli, as usual, and with all of their little friends, including their buddy Chase (whose mommy is one of my friends)!

Climbing up the slide

Playing in the "jumpy-house"

Having a "tea-party"

This past weekend, they went to a HotWheels party for Gabe's 3rd birthday! They had a great time racing their "bikes" in the gym, they even got to make their own race badges, decorate their "bikes" and take home a medal. Such a fun/cool party idea...total boy party! They loved it!

Cruisin' the strip together

They actually have another birthday party to attend this weekend, so they will be all hyped up on cake and ice cream once again!

Quote of the Week

The boys are sitting in Daddy's big chair together. Out of the blue, Anderson turns to EJ and in all seriousness (as though he had been pondering this for awhile, which he probably had been), says...

EJ, you need to start talkin'!

(Silence)

When are you gonna start talkin' EJ!

(Laughter erupts)

All Things New

A New Year. A New Decade. A New Start.

Today in church, Aaron had us watch an awesome video about the new year. It was a great reminder to me that 2010 is yet another chance for us to start over and do things right.

I am sure that we all have something we would like to do-over. What is it that you would like to re-do?!!?

I could sit here and list about a million things but neither one of us has the time or energy to read my list.

So instead, let's not focus on what went wrong but on what could be.

Quit dwelling on the past and instead, look to the future.

See not the errors but the possibilities.

What do you say? Are you with me?

My #1 goal for 2010 is to GET FIT...physically and spiritually!!

This includes eating right, working out, taking care of my skin, hair, body, and my relationship with God!

I have spent the last 3 1/2 years taking care of everyone except me and it is time for that to change! (not that I plan to neglect my family but I am going to make sure to include more me-time)

I have created the 3 on 3 Fit Challenge to help me get started.

Will you join me?!!?

Go here for more details.

I wish I could remember all of the inspiring quotes that were listed in the video this morning, but one I can leave with you is this...

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Will you claim this promise with me as we start the new year?

Do you know that God has graciously offered each one of us a new life in Christ? A re-do. A do-over. Not just at the new year, but anytime we are willing to accept his offer.

Have you accepted his gift of grace?

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith---and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God---not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
